Your pools, water tests and treatment logs are kept with your account. On the Free plan they stay on your device and the app works offline. On paid plans they are also synced to our cloud so you can use them on more than one device, and in de-identified form they may be used to improve our prediction models, as described below.
Using Pool Predictor Pro requires an account. We collect your email address, and an account identifier, so you can sign in and so your subscription works. We use no advertising identifiers, no advertising SDKs and no third-party tracking.
For weather-aware predictions, we use your ZIP code to fetch local UV, temperature and rainfall data. Your ZIP code is saved as part of your pool profile, and is synced to our cloud on paid plans. Your ZIP code and the approximate coordinates it resolves to are sent to our geocoding and weather providers to retrieve your local forecast.
Test-kit photos are processed on your device. Images are never uploaded to our servers or to third parties.
You can sign in with an email address and password, or with Google. On iPhone you can also use Sign in with Apple. If you use Google or Apple, that provider confirms your identity to us and we receive your email address.
Google shares three things with us: your name, your email address and your profile picture. Nothing else from your Google account. We use your email address to create and identify your account and to send the emails described under Emails we send you. We don't use your name or picture.
This information is stored with your account by our database provider and is not shared with anyone else. We don't sell it, give it to advertisers, or use it to train models. Deleting your account deletes it. You can also remove Pool Predictor Pro's access at any time in your Google Account, under Security, then Your connections to third-party apps and services.
Paid plans are billed by Google Play. We use a third party subscription service to check whether your subscription is active; it receives an account identifier and your purchase status. Google Play and the third party subscription service keep purchase records for billing, tax and fraud prevention, and we cannot delete those.
Third party database services host our accounts and cloud sync. Subscription services handle subscription status. Google Play handles payments. Weather and geocoding services provide local forecasts and convert your ZIP code to coordinates. These providers process data on our behalf; we do not sell your data.
Account and service mail. We use your email address to confirm your address, reset your password, and tell you about application, policy or feature changes, and to reply when you contact support. This is part of running your account, so it isn't something you can switch off while the account is open.
Product suggestions and offers. From time to time we may also email you about a chemical, a piece of equipment or an offer we think suits your pool, including offers on Pool Predictor Pro itself. We choose these from the pool profile, readings and treatments you have entered, so the suggestion fits your water rather than being sent to everyone. That happens on our side: we do not give your email address, your pool data or anything else about you to advertisers, ad networks or list brokers, and we do not sell your data.
Turning them off. Every product or offer email carries an unsubscribe link. Using it stops that mail and has no effect on your account, your subscription, or the account and service mail above. You can also reply to any of them, or email support@poolpredictorpro.com, and we will do it for you.
If we are ever paid a fee or a commission on something we recommend, we will say so plainly in the message that recommends it.
If the app hits an unexpected error, it records the technical details of the fault and sends them to us the next time you open the app. That report contains the error message and the code location it came from, your app version, your device model and Android version, and your account identifier if you were signed in. It does not contain your pools, your water tests, your treatment logs or your location, and anything that looks like an email address, a postal code or a security token is stripped out on your device before the report is sent.
We use these reports for one thing: finding and fixing faults. They are not used for marketing, they are not profiled, and they are not shared. They go to our own servers, not to an advertising network or an analytics company.
You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Diagnostics → Send error reports. With it off, nothing is recorded and nothing is sent. If you delete your account, existing reports stay but are unlinked from you, so what remains is an anonymous description of a software fault.
Pool Predictor Pro forecasts come from pool-chemistry models. We may use pool logs to train and improve those models, so forecasts become more accurate for everyone, including a brand-new pool that has no history of its own yet.
What may be used. Pool profiles, water test readings and treatment logs that have been synced to our cloud on a paid plan. Data that never leaves your device, which includes everything on the Free plan, is not used. Error reports are not used for this either; they are used only to fix faults.
How it is protected. Logs are used in de-identified or aggregated form, so the models learn how pools behave, not who owns them.
What we will not do. We do not sell this data or share it with advertisers.
Your choice. If you would rather your logs were not used, email support@poolpredictorpro.com and we will exclude them. Deleting your account deletes your logs from our systems. De-identified copies that have already been used in training cannot be linked back to you, so they cannot be picked out afterwards.
You can delete your pools, tests and logs at any time in Settings → Reset all data, which keeps your account and subscription. To remove everything, use Settings → Account → Delete my account and data, or email support@poolpredictorpro.com. See our Delete Your Data page for full detail.
Pool Predictor Pro is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information. Handling of any chemicals should be done by adults in accordance with local laws and ordinances.
